The Ecuador Chronicles - 2009-16
Frame Shop: Marcos Louis Alfonso;
                    A Small Quito Family Business;
                                 Quality Work by A Talented Family
In an earlier Chronicle we discussed El Parque Ejido and the weekend art market there - a great place to purchase original art directly from the artist at a reasonable price. ( Louis Alfonso is a small frame shop in Colonial Quito located on Calle Venezuela near Calle Esmeraldas.  This is a family business run by brothers Alfonso and Galo Chavez.
The word for "Frames" in Spanish is "Marcos" - somewhere along the way Dalynda and I started referring to them, just between ourselves, as "The Marcos Brothers".  We have used them for all of our art pieces.  We estimate it costs a little less than half of the US cost to have things framed in Ecuador.

Alfonso and Galo are also Musicians - they play in a Brazilian jazz band; I am looking forward to hearing them.
