The Waterfall at Peguche
Dalynda is a real waterfall fan. We have visited waterfalls in many places, including Ecuador. The waterfall at Peguche is really impressive for anyone. It can be easily included on a trip to Otavalo and the Northern Sierra market towns. The village of Peguche itself is noted for weaving.
To reach the waterfall you walk from the village down a trail through a beautiful Eucalyptus stand. It is an enjoyable two kilometer walk with the pungent smell of Eucalyptus all around. The falls are beautiful and loud. As you get closer you will be sprayed by the water. There is a bridge over the stream below the falls - the trail continues on the other side. You can hike up to the top of the falls.
The photos below are from a couple of visits to Peguche. Dalynda, the waterfall fan, really enjoys this place.
