Going to the Dentist in Quito
On my recent trip to Quito I decided to go to the dentist. Ray had already been to a small dental practice in Quito to have his teeth cleaned and some other minor work, but I wanted a full service dental practice with a dentist who spoke English. Before I came to Quito I engaged the services if LWE associate Juan Cevallos to help me find a dentist. Juan did some research and found a couple of likely candidates. I visited them and decided on Doctora Marielena Flores.
Doctora Marielena Flores is in practice with her father and several other dentists and professional staff. The office is associated with Hospital Metropolitano. This is a full service dental practice that can handle all types of dental work. The facility is modern and seems to have the equipment I am used to seeing in a dental office at home. Even so, they are about to move into a new office in a newly constructed medical building nearby. Their list of services and prices is below.
The Doctora has a pleasant manner and speaks very good English. I just needed to have my teeth cleaned and a check up for problems. The cleaning procedure was like what I am used to and the cost was $30. I was happy that she found no other problems.

I feel very comfortable with Doctora Flores as my dentist. I am recommending that Ray go to Doctora Flores for his next dental appointment.
Thank You Dalynda
Dalynda - thank you for a great Chronicle; this is useful information, especially the price list that the Doctora has provided below. The dentist that I went to previously was a one person operation - the dentist also acted as receptionist. It was a very small office (like many in Quito) and there was no x-ray equipment. The prices were less than those below and I thought the service was adequate - but I plan to take Dalynda's advice and go to Doctora Flores in the future.
