A December Day in Quito
December in Ecuador is a month of celebrations that include many cultural events. Yadira and I went to El Sagrario Church in El Centro to celebrate a Mass for The Virgin of Guadalupe. There were, without exaggeration, thousands of people inside and outside the Church. Beautiful music and singing - Unfortunately, no pictures allowed.
After the Mass we visited the Church of San Francisco, a short walk away. In the Convent next to the church there was a musical Christmas offering and a huge display of hand-made manger scenes. So beautiful and creative! What a delight to see! Here are some of the many displays for your enjoyment:
