The Barber of Seville - No!
             Forget the Opera - Check Out the Barber of Quito;
                                                        Look What You get for a Buck Fifty

When I need a haircut in Quito I go to Sala de Belleza Jesus de Nazareth.  It is located on the pedestrian street Calle Chile between Guayaqiul and Flores.

Sala de Belleza Jesus de Nazareth

The price of a haircut is posted at the entrance of the shop:

Just Like the Sign Says - Haircuts $1.50

Recently I went to Sala de Belleza Jesus de Nazareth and put myself in the capable hands of Naloy Zambra.  Senorita Zambra is originally from Quito, but her hair dressing skills have allowed her to see much of the world.  She has worked in Pairs, Genoa and Santiago, to mention a few places.

An Experienced Barber; A Good Haircut - Good Value, Wouldn't You Agree?

I will admit right here that I actually pay $2.00; to my way of thinking a barber with such international experience deserves a bit more (even though I don't have that much hair to deal with).  The Gringo has no doubt ruined it for everyone else.

Sala de Belleza Jesus de Nazareth is a busy place even on a weekday morning.  There are several experienced barbers, but I have become accustomed to working with Senorita Zambra; she even does a razor cut around my ears and neck.
